Absurd “N-Word Controversy” — Teacher FIRED for Reading ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ in Class
Matthew Mastronardi, a teacher in the state of Washington, is being “canceled” for reading from the classic book “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Specifically, he quoted a passage that contained the N-word. Mastronardi argues that the word should not be censored when read in a literary context and that his students should not be afraid of reading classics that may appear culturally “outdated.” Now he fights not just to be reinstated, but to keep history from being rewritten. BlazeTV Host Sara Gonzales is joined by Mastronardi to get his take on this absurd situation.
