“Savior, Redeemer of My Soul” and “Angels Over Me” – Yahosh Bonner

In this episode, Yahosh Bonner performs an original song, “Angels Over Me” and one of his favorite hymns, “Savior, Redeemer of My Soul.” In the past, Yahosh appeared in the Mormon Channel music video “I Am Here” alongside his parents and seven siblings.

The original song he sings was written by his brother. Often we focus on the things in life that are working against us. Yahosh appreciates the message of this song for teaching us to focus on our blessings.

“In reality we should know that heaven is on our side,” he says. “We have a Father in heaven that wants us to succeed, and He sends His angels to lift us up and to bring us through tough times. I think this is a song that anybody who knows of a loving Father in heaven can relate to.”

Yahosh and his siblings grew up singing. They participated in musical theater, singing contests, and free-style rap competitions between themselves. They particularly love music about love and God. The hymn he sings is a reflection of both of those things.

Mormon Channel Studio is a weekly video series featuring beautiful hymn arrangements and original music by LDS musicians from across the nation.
