Wicked religious leaders teach their followers that the only way to truly worship God is in a synagogue they control. Their followers feel great anxiety when they are restricted by their leaders from worshiping in the temples they helped build. Alma rejoices that they have been sufficiently humbled. He teaches them how to come back into God’s presence through the Doctrine of Christ rather than relying on the works of men.
