Jennifer Newstead, currently serving as legal adviser to the US State Department, is joining Facebook as its new general counsel. Newstead is known as co-author and passionate advocate of the controversial USA PATRIOT Act. Meanwhile Facebook has launched “CheckYourFact.com,” associated with the George Soros and State Dept. funded Poynter Institute which purports to be an “objective” fact-checking body.
