Drug Addiction and The Loss of a Loved One – His Grace

By God’s grace we are able to overcome any challenge life brings. And with His Grace we are able to feel much-needed love and comfort amidst our trials. One common trial of many families is drug addiction, a problem that may unfortunately lead to the death of a loved one.

It is important to know that you are not alone if you have struggled with drug addiction or if you have lost a loved one to death by overdose.

The family in this video shares their experience with drug addiction and the loss of a loved one: “We’re here in this life to overcome our challenges and become stronger. … Through our faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and knowing the price that He has paid for us—and for everyone on this earth—that has helped us get through the tough times.”

The New Testament teaches us about Jesus’s grace in Romans 5:2: “By [Jesus Christ] we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” In the Book of Mormon, Moroni 10:32–33 says: “Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God. And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.”

Through God’s grace we can become perfected. Through His grace, we, like this family, can be given the strength to endure life’s most difficult struggles.
