“I Thank God That Our Paths Crossed:” Ending Blindness in Premature Newborns




Dr. Vatavu aims to prevent blindness in premature babies in Bucharest, Romania. Retinopathy of prematurity is an eye disease that can result in blindness if not discovered and treated early. LDS Charities donated equipment to Dr. Vatavu that allows her to examine small infants’ eyes. During frequent checkups of at-risk newborns, she comes to love these families and cherishes her ability to help them.
