On Monday, the IRS made a massive reversal on one of its policies, releasing a statement saying that IRS agents will no longer be going out to personally visit the homes of taxpayers.

The IRS’s practice of making house calls has been going on for a long time now, but it came to broader public attention about three months ago.

At that time, journalist Matt Taibbi was testifying before Congress about his role in exposing the Twitter Files. Essentially, he was testifying to the House about how social media companies became the new avenue for the weaponization of government.

However, at the very moment that Mr. Taibbi was sitting in front of the Republican-led House Committee, there were IRS agents knocking on his front door.
