Although D&C Section 110 claims Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery received visitations from Elijah, Moses, and Elias in the Kirtland Temple in 1836, neither Joseph nor Oliver ever mentioned any such visitations in their public teachings and publications. This video provides examples of Joseph Smith’s public teachings that repeatedly referred to the return of Elijah as an anticipated, future event after 1836.
