Sacrament: A Bible Story for Children

We asked kids to tell us the story of the Last Supper in their own words and to explain why it matters for our lives today.

On the night before Jesus was crucified, He invited His Apostles to an evening meal. At that meal, called the Last Supper, Jesus gave His disciples a special way to always remember Him. He gave the bread to remind them of His body, which He sacrificed for us. He also gave them wine to remind them of His blood, which He shed for us.

When we eat and drink the sacrament, we are doing the same thing the Apostles did at the Last Supper. The bread reminds us of Jesus’s love and sacrifice.

How has the sacrament blessed your life?

(John 13:1-35)
