“Señal”, “Más cerca, Dios, de Ti” – David Lindes

“David and his wife Noel have been married for nearly 10 years, but they’ve only been singing together for a small portion of that time. They shared their beautiful harmonies with us at Mormon Channel Studio in this special recording session.

The first song, “Señal,” is one David wrote in tribute to his four children.

“This song is about what I felt when they were born. It was like someone turned the lights on,” he describes.

David and Noel chose to also perform an a cappella duet of one of their favorite Christian hymns, “Más Cerca, Dios, de Ti,” the Spanish version of “Nearer, My God, to Thee.” Their minimalistic approach to the song reflects its pure message.

“I like the humility and the simplicity of the plea: ‘I don’t have everything figured out. I’m not doing everything right. But here I am, and I’d like to be closer to you,'” David explains. “Just a simple prayer.”
