“Silent Night” – Junior Maile

Junior Maile has been singing since he was a baby, and the song he performs in this Christmas-themed episode of Mormon Channel Studio is one of his favorites.

The hymn “Silent Night” was written by a Catholic priest on a night when the church organ had broken. The priest crafted a song that could be played on guitar, as Junior plays it here. That song reminds those who hears it that this time of year isn’t filled with light and love thanks to twinkle lights or gifts, but thanks to our Savior, Jesus Christ.

“I know a lot of times we get caught up in buying presents and just the stress of making sure the kids are happy on Christmas in morning,” says Junior. “But in our home we try our best to make sure that it’s centered on Christ. That’s why this is my favorite songs to sing.”
