South Carolina Flooding 2015 – “I knew we were probably losing everything”
The flooding in South Carolina during the end of 2015 caused widespread destruction. Those that survived lost houses and, in some cases, were cut off from food and water for days. The response from members of the LDS Church in one of the hardest hit areas created a positive impact in an otherwise dismal situation. Volunteers came out in the hundreds in their yellow Mormon Helping Hands vests to provide relief, tear down houses and clear away some of the destruction. This outpouring of love and charity was greatly needed and appreciated by the victims of the flooding and the people trying to organize relief. They were there in a time of need doing their best to follow the example set by the Savior.
