Welcome to America: Giving Refugees New Hope with Household Goods
There are many ways to volunteer and make a difference in your community. One church group in Phoenix Arizona decided to spend a day volunteering with a local non-profit called The Welcome to America Project. Every week, this non-profit identifies several local refugee families in need of household items and gathers donations from the community. On Saturdays, local volunteers help move and set up these items in the homes of refugee families. A group of volunteers met a young family from Burma and were able to assist them in their home.
