The Bible holds out God as being keenly interested in pointing out his own awesomeness to everyone, and one of the ways readers learn that about him is that he often creates elaborately difficult, even impossible, obstacles that no person could ever overcome. Then God overcomes those obstacles in such a way that makes it clear that only God deserves credit for it.
