7,000 Nurses at 2 NYC Hospitals Go on Strike



At 6 a.m. Monday, thousands of nurses at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx and Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan went on strike. The New York State Nurses Association urged Gov. Kathy Hochul to put “patients over profits” and “enforce existing nurse staffing laws,” refusing a wage increase offer and Hochul’s binding arbitration proposal.
