Oakland Zoo Celebrates First Giraffe Birth in Over a Decade

The Oakland Zoo in California welcomed a heartwarming addition to their family on Friday, October 20. After an 11-year gap, the zoo announced the birth of a female giraffe named Kendi to proud mother Kijiji. Kendi, meaning ‘loved one’ in Swahili, stands at 6.5 feet tall and weighs around 150 lbs.
