Venice’s famous Grand Canal looked a little green around the gills Saturday after Extinction Rebellion Italy poured green dye into the canal’s waters. Although the group stated that the dye was “harmless” and would fade away, Venice’s mayor Luigi Brugnaro decried the protesters as “eco vandals.”
