Helicopter Hits Power Lines, Crashes Into River Barge

A helicopter struck power lines near East Alton, Illinois, and crashed into a barge on the Missouri side of the Mississippi River, erupting into flames, killing two people, and sending thick black smoke billowing into the sky.
