We built this fire pit for free (part 1)

No budget. No problem.

Every material you’re looking at was already on-site — leftovers from other projects sitting around waiting to be useful, or salvaged from projects that were no longer useful. The gravel, the log benches, the fire ring. All of it. Total cost: $0.

It didn’t happen in a weekend exactly — more like a weekend’s worth of effort spread across a month. That’s just how homestead projects go when family life is happening at the same time.

Part 2 is coming. We’re planning to landscape around it and make the whole area feel intentional — not just a fire pit dropped in a field.

For now though? We’ve got somewhere to sit, a fire to light, and one less pile of leftover materials.

That’s a win.
