We are turning rotting hay into a garden bed

Spoiled hay looks like a problem. We’re treating it as a solution.

This pile has been sitting long enough to grow its own fungal ecosystem — which, it turns out, is exactly what you want when you’re trying to build a garden bed from scratch. We’re using what’s already on-site to start layering in some real soil biology.

No perfect inputs. No trips to the store. Just rotting hay doing what rotting hay does.

Put it in the ground.
