How It’s Made: Pasta at the Deseret Mill
Did you know that The Church of Jesus Christ makes spaghetti? Wheat from Church farms is ground into semolina flour, made into pasta dough, dried, and packaged at the Deseret Mill and Pasta Plant in Utah. The spaghetti is used as the Church helps provide food and supplies to people who fall on hard times. Where does the funding come from? Members of the Church fast—or don’t eat food—for 2 meals a month and donate the money they would have spent on food to help those in need. And why do they do it? Members of the Church strive every day to follow the example of Jesus Christ and serve those in need.
