A major “atmospheric river” left houses under several inches of floodwater and debris scattered everywhere in several California towns.

At 6 a.m. Monday, thousands of nurses at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx and Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan went on strike. The New York State Nurses Association urged Gov. Kathy Hochul to put “patients over profits” and “enforce existing nurse staffing laws,” refusing a wage increase offer and Hochul’s binding arbitration proposal.

“I’ve lived in New York City all my life, through the ’70s and ’80s, and I’ve never felt so unsafe… What is the mayor doing? It’s ridiculous. We have to do something about it,” Gina Tarigo, an employee of the shop, told the New York Post.

“Athens is an absolute scene.”

The Yonkers Police Department arrested 25-year-old Franklyn Rosario on suspicion of repeated stealing from a Marshalls store in New York. Though footage shows shoppers trying to stop Rosario from stealing, police advise people to not intervene in shoplifting situations for personal safety reasons.
