Election Official Defends Destroying Ballots in GOP Chairman Election for Warren County, Virginia
Stephen Kurtz, current vice chair of the Warren County Republican Committee, admitted to destroying the ballots used to cast votes during the local February 12 mass meeting election to determine who would become the Warren County Republican Party Chairman, claiming it was standard procedure. The Republican supported by Democrats, David Silek, won the election amid concerns of election interference, but the election was overturned by the 6th District of the Republican Party of Virginia, which was supported by the Republican Party Virginia state executive committee.
