Tourette’s Syndrome is a rare disorder of the nervous system involving involuntary movements and sounds that usually affects young boys. But in just the past few years, a massive surge of videos of teen girls displaying “tics” similar to those of people with Tourrette’s has swept across TikTok. Have these girls really suddenly manifested the disorder? Or could we perhaps have what’s been called a “mass psychogenic illness” on our hands?
