Parmila Jayapal: Usage of Word ‘B*tch’ Blew Up in Response to Women’s Suffrage

Citing Rep. Ted Yoho’s (R-FL) alleged usage of the word “bitch” toward Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) suggested Thursday on the House floor that “all of a sudden that word rose in prominence” in reaction to the passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. “This violent language is about power,” she asserted.
