“How could you say I wasn’t taking [the coronavirus outbreak] seriously? I put a ban on China before anybody in this country died,” said President Donald Trump at a White House press briefing on Monday, responding to PBS reporter Yamiche Alcindor’s allegation that some coronavirus deaths were due to his initial “downplaying” of the pandemic.
