The Ukrainian government removed the Soviet hammer and sickle from the over 200 foot tall Mother Ukraine Monument in the nation’s capital of Kyiv. It will be replaced by the Ukranian trident symbol as part of the country’s “decommunization” efforts that have intensified since the Russian invasion.
